Abstract

A vast part of all four canonical gospels has great information about the last days of Jesus as he entered the Jerusalem before the incidents of crucifixion. These events are so important in this way that they lead Jesus to the cross which is most important event in Christianity because salvation of humanity is based on crucifixion of Jesus. At the other hand, each one of four gospel narrates this incident in their own way to provide complete undergirding for the salvation of humanity. The gospels writers have placed the foundation of Jesus’ crucifixion on the day when Jesus triumphally entered the Jerusalem and Jewish crowed greeted him vehemently. The gospels writers tried to create an illusion for this entry into the Jerusalem on the day of Passover which is one of Jewish religious festival, but historical facts are contrary to it and it can be judged through facts that this event of triumphal entry into Jerusalem was happened six months ago on Tabernacle feast which is another most important Jewish festival before Passover. In this article the event of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem has been viewed in the light of historical evidence.
