Abstract

The whole world is in grave danger of environmental pollution and according to experts the most effective way to solve this problem is to plant trees. People all over the world are being encouraged to plant trees and bulk amount of money is being spent on promotion of its usefulness and importance. As Christianity and Islam are two major religions and more than half of the world population follow these religions. So ultimate purpose of this paper is to review and present the teachings regarding need and importance, and plantation of trees in both religions, especially in their religious books i.e., Holy Quran and Holy Bible (Old and New Testament) so that the followers of both religions may be encouraged to contribute in this regard. If these teachings are put into practice, hopefully the efforts for protection the world from environmental pollution will be strengthen.
